Mohbad’s Father Appeals Legal Advice Clearing Naira Marley, Sam Larry

Mr. Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has filed a notice of appeal challenging the Lagos High Court ruling that upheld the legal advice which cleared music executive Azeez Fashola (also known as Naira Marley) and show promoter Balogun Eletu (known as Sam Larry) of involvement in his son’s controversial death.
The appeal, submitted to the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, seeks to overturn the decision delivered on July 2, 2025, by Justice D.T. Olatokun.
Through his legal team, led by Senior Advocate of Nigeria Wahab Shittu and Don Akaegbu, Aloba argued that the Director of Public Prosecutions’ (DPP) legal advice, which was used to absolve key suspects, should not be immune from judicial scrutiny.
