Kwankwaso can’t contest on our platform – NNPP
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) says its former presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, cannot contest the 2027 election on its platform.
The NNPP National Chairman, Dr. Agbo Major, said this in a statement on Saturday.
His reaction followed claims by Buba Galadima, who had said Kwankwaso would remain in the NNPP and run for president again, urging Nigerians to support him.
Agbo explained that Kwankwaso and Galadima had both been expelled from the NNPP for anti-party activities and therefore can no longer speak for or use the party.
> “The NNPP had long expelled Kwankwaso and Galadima, and they no longer speak for us nor can they use our platform for any political contest,” Agbo said.
“Our Memorandum of Understanding with the Kwankwasiya Movement, led by Kwankwaso, ended shortly after the 2023 presidential election.”
Agbo insisted that the NNPP is no longer open to Kwankwaso ahead of 2027.
