NNPCL CUTS PETROL PRICE TO N910 AMID GROWING COMPETITION

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to N910 per litre, down from N935.
This latest price slash was observed on Saturday at several NNPCL retail outlets in Abuja, including those along Kubwa Expressway, Zone 4, and Gudu. The move is part of an ongoing price competition in the petroleum downstream sector.
The price reduction follows Dangote Refinery’s recent drop in its ex-depot petrol price to N835 per litre. In turn, Dangote’s major partners—such as MRS, Ardova (AP), Heyden, Optima Energy, Hyde, and Techno Oil—are now selling petrol between N890 and N920 per litre in Lagos, Abuja, and other cities.
As a result, motorists have been seen trooping to NNPCL stations to benefit from the more affordable pricing. Meanwhile, other independent and major filling stations across the country continue to sell petrol at higher rates, ranging from N930 to N950 per litre, depending on location.
