Troops Kill 5 Terrorists, Recover Weapons In Taraba
Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army have neutralised five terrorists, foiled kidnapping attempts on church members and recovered cache of arms and ammunition in Taraba State.
The Nigerian Army on its official handle on Tuesday said the troops achieved the feat while acting on actionable intelligence on the plan of the extremists to kidnap some church members returning from church programme in Wukari along Tor – Tse and Takum road.
The statement said troops of 93 Battalion deployed in Wukari swiftly swung into action on 2 April 2024 and tactically lied in wait for the terrorists, made contact and engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle leading to the neutralization of four extremists.
The troops recovered two AK 47 Rifles, one pump action rifle and two AK 47 magazine.
Similarly, on 27 March 2024 troops while on patrol around Chanchanji Ward of Takum local government area came in contact with terrorists.
The troops engaged the terrorists with superior fire power killing one and recovered one locally fabricated FN Pistol, two rounds of 9MM ammunition and one mobile phone belonging to the criminal.
