Parents Express Confidence In Caleb University As 1,644 Students Matriculate

Caleb University in Imota, Lagos held its 17th Matriculation ceremony at the Imota Main Campus, where parents expressed their confidence in the institution and renewed their partnership for its strategic development.

 

Mr. Yemi Solade, a popular veteran Nollywood actor and representative of the parents, praised the quality of education offered by Caleb University and acknowledged the remarkable developments in the school.

With three masters degrees and a successful career in acting, including Nigeria’s entry at Festac ’77 – “Langbodo,” Solade promised to be an ambassador for the university due to its unique approach in raising graduates of character and learning.

During his address, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Nosa Owens-Ibie, urged the matriculating students to maintain a strong relationship with God, emphasizing that it is crucial for them to overcome life challenges and push boundaries.

 

He also highlighted the university’s expansion in infrastructure, quality of human resources, and curriculum, as well as its networking and partnerships with major institutions locally and internationally, and regulatory agencies.

Caleb University has been making significant progress since its 13th Convocation, where it produced its first-ever Doctorate degree holders and graduated 60 First Class students out of a total of 1,209 graduands.

The university has also recently received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for five new programs, including Nursing Science and Software Engineering.

Additionally, it held its 6th Inaugural Lecture, further solidifying its achievements.

The other high point of the event, which statutorily confers membership of the University on the newly admitted freshers included the administration of the Matriculation Oath, as well as the signing of the Matriculation Register by the students.
