Confirming the approval of the new structure in a statement, Special Adviser on media to the FIRS Chairman, Dare Adekanmbi, said the strategic retreat would provide an opportunity for all FIRS directors to receive adequate briefing on the workings of the new structure and the strategic direction of the Service.

He said the approach has necessitated a significant overhaul of the Service’s operational and management structures as well as a re-engineering of tax processes that support taxpayers to exercise their civic obligations.

Further stating that the new operational structure would ensure a modernised system of tax administration that is not only equitable, but also growth-oriented, the statement said; “It is hoped that this retreat will foster a shared vision among FIRS directors and inspire confidence and excitement for the future of tax administration in the country.
