J Brandy, a member of the YBNL music label, recently took to Twitter to celebrate the influence of Olamide, the label’s founder, on the Nigerian music scene. This acknowledgment highlights Olamide’s role as a mentor and a key figure in the development of many Nigerian artists’ careers.

In his tweet, J Brandy expressed deep respect for Olamide, suggesting that without his impact, the trajectory of many Nigerian artists would have been vastly different. “If not for the influence of Olamide in Nigeria’s Music Industry, Only God knows where many of our artists will be?” he mused, encapsulating the YBNL boss’s immense contribution to the industry.

Recall that just last week, Olamide had gotten his first-ever Grammy nomination. This achievement aligns him with other Nigerian stars like Davido and Burnaboy, who have also received Grammy nods, alongside Oxlade. This international recognition underlines the global appeal of Nigerian music.

Back in September, former artist under YBNL, Temmie ,openly criticized Olamide for poor treatment during her time with the label. She accused him of neglecting her musical career and claimed that her recorded music files were lost. Additionally, Temmie described a difficult relationship with Olamide’s wife, who she felt treated her unfairly.

Importantly, Temmie clarified that she was never physically or sexually assaulted by Olamide, a point she emphasized to dispel any rumors that had begun to circulate following her allegations.
