𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗧𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗜𝗻 𝗙𝗖𝗧

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has pledged to expand courtroom infrastructure in Abuja as part of efforts to improve justice delivery and address the growing shortage of court facilities in the territory.

Speaking during an inspection of ongoing judicial projects, Wike expressed concern over the limited number of courtrooms available to handle increasing legal cases, noting that delays in trials often stem from inadequate infrastructure. He assured that new courtroom complexes under construction would be completed by June, adding that the projects are designed to strengthen the efficiency of the judicial system.

According to the minister, the FCT Administration remains committed to supporting the judiciary through modern facilities that will enhance access to justice for residents. He emphasised that improved working conditions for judges, lawyers and court staff would help reduce case backlogs and speed up legal proceedings.

Officials accompanying the minister said the new buildings would include technologically equipped court halls, administrative offices and improved security features aimed at creating a conducive environment for legal operations.

Legal practitioners and stakeholders have welcomed the development, describing it as a step toward strengthening the rule of law and restoring public confidence in the justice system within the nation’s capital.
