The Osun State caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party in the House of Representatives has cautioned Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, against involving himself in the state’s political affairs as internal tensions deepen within the party.

In a statement on Tuesday, the lawmakers accused Makinde of allegedly backing certain factions in Osun PDP, saying his involvement was further aggravating the crisis already threatening the party’s stability. They insisted that Osun PDP remains fully capable of resolving its internal issues without any external interference.

The caucus described Makinde’s alleged role as “unwarranted and destabilising,” especially at a time when the party is working to consolidate unity ahead of crucial political activities. They noted that the party’s structure in Osun “is not under the control or influence of any outside governor” and urged the PDP national leadership to caution him before the situation worsens.

They further appealed to South-West stakeholders to respect political boundaries and allow each state chapter to manage its internal affairs without imposing leaders or directives from outside.

Reaffirming their support for Governor Ademola Adeleke, the lawmakers said they remain committed to safeguarding the party’s cohesion and ensuring stability within the Osun chapter.
