President Bola Tinubu has written to the National Assembly seeking approval for a fresh โ‚ฆ1.15 trillion loan from the domestic market to help finance the deficit in the 2025 national budget.

In a letter read during Tuesdayโ€™s plenary, Tinubu explained that the borrowing is part of the governmentโ€™s fiscal plan to sustain key infrastructure and social investment projects amid dwindling oil revenue and rising expenditure obligations.

The President assured that the loan will be sourced under favourable terms and managed responsibly to ensure fiscal stability while advancing Nigeriaโ€™s economic growth agenda.
