The World Bank and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (the Global Fund) have agreed to collaborate to strengthen health systems in developing nations.

This is contained in a statement issued Wednesday by the World Bank Online Media Briefing Centre.

The purpose was to encourage more efficient, effective, and long-term finance to improve health outcomes in the face of climate change.

According to the most recent estimates, more than half of the world population is not adequately covered by vital health services.

“The climate crisis will only increase the demand for effective services, especially for the most vulnerable people.”

The two organizations said they would collaborate on climate and health priorities to lower the burden of malaria, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis (TB).

It added that this will be accomplished through stronger health-care systems, particularly improved access to primary care for the most disadvantaged populations.
