Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has launched the Abia-ANPA medical mission, a free healthcare initiative aimed at improving access to medical services for residents.
The programme, which is being implemented in collaboration with the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA), will provide free consultations, treatments and surgical procedures in Aba and Umuahia.
Otti said the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector and ensuring that quality medical services are accessible to all, especially the less privileged.
He also called for increased collaboration with local and international partners to expand healthcare delivery and sustain such interventions across the state.
Medical professionals involved in the mission expressed readiness to offer specialised care and contribute to improving health outcomes in the region.
Observers say the initiative highlights the growing importance of partnerships in addressing healthcare challenges and enhancing service delivery.
