I DON’T NEED VOTE-BUYING TO WIN — ADELEKE

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has expressed confidence in his chances of winning the August 15 governorship election, insisting that he does not need to buy votes to secure victory.
Adeleke said his administration lacked the resources to engage in vote-buying, noting that state funds had been used to support local government workers after their allocations were withheld for an extended period.
The governor said he had also provided palliatives to workers since 2023 and believed his performance in office would speak for him at the polls.
Adeleke urged voters to assess his administration based on its record, rather than on allegations surrounding the campaign.
He also defended his government’s development projects across the state, pointing to investments in roads, healthcare and other areas as evidence of his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of residents.
The governor maintained that he was confident in the people of Osun and would accept their decision at the ballot box.
The statement comes amid heightened political tension and allegations of vote-buying from rival political camps ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
Adeleke urged residents to come out peacefully, exercise their constitutional rights and protect the integrity of their votes.
He reaffirmed his confidence that his administration’s achievements would earn him the support required for another term in office.
