TINUBU MOCKS OBI OVER ANAMBRA EROSION, SAYS HE CONFRONTED ATLANTIC OCEAN
President Bola Tinubu has taken a swipe at former Anambra State Governor and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over the persistent erosion crisis in the South-East state.
Tinubu made the remarks on Friday, November 6, 2026, while addressing supporters at an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The President accused Obi of failing to confront the erosion menace during his eight-year tenure as Anambra governor, contrasting his performance with what he described as his own efforts to tackle coastal challenges in Lagos.
“In Anambra State, he could not confront erosion. I, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, confronted the Atlantic Ocean,” the President said.
Tinubu also praised Akwa Ibom Governor, Umo Eno, for his efforts to address erosion in the state, using the comparison to question Obi’s leadership credentials ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The President further criticised Obi’s political journey and ability to manage political relationships, questioning whether his actions demonstrated the qualities required of a national leader.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to support his administration, promising to tackle poverty, ignorance and economic regression.
The remarks add to the growing political exchanges between the ruling APC and opposition figures as preparations gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
