Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has appointed new aides to key sectors of his administration and sworn in the reappointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Habibat Adubiaro, and Chief of Staff, Oyeniyi Adebayo.
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at the Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office in Ado-Ekiti, where the governor charged the two officials to deliver excellent service in his second term.
Oyebanji said their reappointment came with greater responsibilities, warning that his administration would be less tolerant of lapses because both officials were familiar with the workings of government after serving during his first term.
He urged them to demonstrate renewed commitment, discipline, humility and accountability, stressing the need to serve the people of Ekiti State with diligence.
The governor also called on the officials to remain accessible and treat residents with courtesy, fairness and compassion. He reminded them that their positions came through the mandate given to the administration by the people.
Oyebanji explained that the SSG and Chief of Staff were his personal choices and closest administrative aides. He added that they would be expected to provide administrative support and help cover existing vacancies while the process of constituting the full cabinet continued.
Adubiaro, speaking on behalf of the two officials, thanked the governor for renewing his confidence in them and pledged their continued commitment to serving the state.
The reappointments followed Oyebanji’s inauguration for a second term. He had also retained Olayinka Oyebode as Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
