Muhammad Sa’idu, a former ally of ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside his supporters.
Sa’idu announced his move to the ruling party in Kaduna State after leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring that the opposition party was no longer viable in the state.
The defection comes amid political realignments as politicians reposition themselves ahead of future electoral contests.
Sa’idu’s decision could affect the ADC’s local political structure, particularly if more members and supporters follow him to the APC.
However, his claim that the ADC is effectively dead in Kaduna represents his assessment of the party’s position in the state.
The development adds to the changing political alignments in Kaduna as parties work to strengthen their structures and consolidate support.
