ONDO AIR CRASH: TECHNICAL FAULT MAY BE CAUSE — AIYEDATIWA
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has said a technical problem may have contributed to the aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
Aiyedatiwa said preliminary information available to the state government suggested that the aircraft may have developed a technical fault before it lost contact with the control tower.
The governor also said bad weather was unlikely to have caused the crash, noting that weather conditions did not appear severe enough to prevent the aircraft from operating.
The aircraft was reportedly travelling from Benin towards Lagos when it lost communication before eventually crashing in the Igbokoda area.
Rescue and recovery teams were deployed to the crash site after the aircraft was located in a swampy area. Authorities continued efforts to recover the victims and secure the crash site.
The exact cause of the crash has not yet been officially established. Aviation and relevant security authorities are expected to conduct investigations to determine what happened and whether a technical failure played a role.
Aiyedatiwa urged the public to await the outcome of the investigation rather than rely on unconfirmed reports surrounding the incident.
