NIGERIANS MUST SAY ENOUGH TO HUNGER, POVERTY — PETER OBI

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on Nigerians to reject hunger, poverty, and bad governance, urging citizens to take an active role in shaping the country’s future ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Obi said the power to bring about positive change ultimately rests with the people, stressing that Nigerians must remain united and committed to demanding accountable leadership and credible elections.
According to him, the country’s growing economic hardship, rising cost of living, and widespread poverty require urgent action, adding that citizens should not accept these challenges as the new normal.
He maintained that good governance, transparency, and responsible leadership are essential to improving the economy, creating jobs, and restoring hope for millions of Nigerians.
Obi also encouraged young people to participate actively in the democratic process by registering to vote, obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and engaging peacefully in civic activities.
He emphasized that credible elections remain the foundation of a stronger democracy and urged Nigerians to protect the integrity of the electoral process through lawful and peaceful participation.
The former Anambra State governor expressed confidence that with unity, determination, and active citizen involvement, Nigeria can overcome its current challenges and build a nation where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive.
