WE WON’T PAY RANSOM TO TERRORISTS — TINUBU

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that his administration will not negotiate with or pay ransom to terrorists and other criminal groups, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling insecurity through decisive military action.
The President said paying ransom only encourages criminal activities and strengthens terrorist networks, stressing that his administration remains focused on dismantling armed groups and restoring peace across the country.
Tinubu outlined plans to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture, including renewed support for the creation of state police and the expansion of the Nigerian Army to improve the country’s capacity to combat terrorism and banditry.
He also pledged increased investment in intelligence gathering, modern military equipment, and enhanced collaboration among security agencies to improve operational effectiveness.
According to the President, the Federal Government will continue to work with state governments, local communities, and traditional institutions to prevent attacks and improve security nationwide.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that security forces have been directed to intensify operations against terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements, while ensuring those responsible for violent attacks are brought to justice.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s determination to restore peace and protect lives and property, urging citizens to continue supporting security agencies with credible information to strengthen the fight against insecurity.
