Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has advised pilgrims from the state travelling for the 2026 Hajj to conduct themselves responsibly and avoid all forms of misconduct while in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking during an address to intending pilgrims, the governor urged them to serve as worthy ambassadors of Kano State and Nigeria throughout their stay in the Holy Land.
According to Yusuf, pilgrims should focus on the spiritual purpose of the Hajj exercise and avoid actions capable of tarnishing the image of the state or the country.
He warned against involvement in immoral behaviour, criminal activities and violations of Saudi Arabian laws, stressing that discipline and good conduct are essential during the pilgrimage.
The governor also encouraged the pilgrims to pray for peace, unity and progress in Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
Officials involved in the Hajj operations assured pilgrims that necessary arrangements had been made to ensure a smooth and successful pilgrimage exercise.
Religious leaders at the gathering also reminded pilgrims about the importance of patience, tolerance and respect for rules during the spiritual journey.
The annual Hajj pilgrimage attracts millions of Muslims from around the world to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia.
Preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise have continued across Nigerian states as authorities coordinate travel, accommodation and welfare arrangements for pilgrims.
