The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has apologised to Nigerians over the recent widespread electricity outages that have disrupted homes and businesses across the country.

Speaking on the development, the minister acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the power disruptions and appealed for patience as the Federal Government works to stabilise electricity supply. He assured citizens that urgent steps are being taken to address the technical and operational challenges responsible for the situation.

According to Adelabu, ongoing interventions in the power sector, including efforts to resolve gas supply constraints and improve grid management, are expected to restore more stable electricity within the next two weeks.

He noted that relevant agencies and stakeholders have been directed to intensify coordination to prevent further system failures and enhance service delivery.

The minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to long-term reforms aimed at strengthening power generation, transmission and distribution capacity nationwide.

Energy analysts say consistent implementation of sector reforms and investment in infrastructure will be key to achieving sustainable improvements in electricity supply.
