Ojulari: Nigeria can increase crude oil output by 100,000 bpd in next few months
The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Bayo Ojulari, has expressed optimism that Nigeria’s crude oil production could rise by about 100,000 barrels per day in the coming months.
Ojulari disclosed this while speaking on efforts to strengthen output levels and improve operational efficiency in the country’s oil sector. He noted that ongoing interventions, including improved security around oil facilities and enhanced collaboration with industry partners, are expected to support the projected increase.
According to him, addressing challenges such as pipeline vandalism, crude theft and technical constraints remains a priority for stakeholders seeking to stabilise production and maximise revenue generation.
The NNPC boss also emphasised the importance of investment in infrastructure, technology and workforce capacity to sustain long-term growth in the petroleum industry. He added that increased output could boost foreign exchange earnings and contribute to broader economic recovery efforts.
Energy analysts say consistent improvements in production levels would help Nigeria meet its budgetary targets and strengthen its position within the global oil market.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to implementing reforms and policies aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency and sustainability in the oil and gas sector.
