2027: South-west to deliver 10m votes for Tinubu — Bamidele
The Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, has expressed confidence that the South-west region will deliver no fewer than 10 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Bamidele, who represents Ekiti Central Senatorial District, made the statement during a political gathering with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-west. According to him, the region remains strongly committed to the leadership and policies of President Tinubu.
He said the APC in the South-west is already mobilising party members and supporters across the six states in the region to ensure a massive turnout in support of Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Bamidele noted that the South-west has historically been a stronghold of progressive politics and has consistently supported leaders who promote development, democracy, and economic growth.
“The South-west will deliver nothing less than 10 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in 2027,” he said. “Our people understand the vision of the president and the long-term benefits of the reforms currently being implemented.”
The Senate Leader also urged party members to remain united and focused on strengthening the party’s structure at the grassroots level ahead of the next general elections.
He praised President Tinubu’s administration for what he described as bold economic reforms and efforts to reposition Nigeria’s economy despite current challenges.
Bamidele further called on political leaders in the region to intensify engagement with citizens, explaining government policies and programmes to ensure continued support for the APC.
President Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023, is expected to seek re-election in the 2027 general elections, with political alignments and strategies already beginning to emerge across the country.
Observers say the South-west, widely regarded as Tinubu’s political base, will play a crucial role in shaping the outcome of the next presidential election.
