2027: Supporting Tinubu A Must For The North — APC National Chair
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress has called on Northern political leaders and stakeholders to support President Bola Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027, stressing that the region has benefitted significantly from ongoing federal projects and policies.
Speaking during a political engagement, the party chief said continued backing for the current administration would ensure the completion of key infrastructure, security initiatives and economic programmes already impacting Northern states. According to him, the government’s development agenda has prioritised national unity and regional growth, making sustained support necessary for stability.
He maintained that several road constructions, agricultural interventions and security investments introduced under the Tinubu administration were designed to address long-standing challenges facing the North. The APC leader added that political alignment with the presidency would strengthen governance and accelerate development across the region.
However, the remarks have sparked mixed reactions within political circles, with some critics urging leaders to focus on performance and national consensus rather than early campaign rhetoric ahead of the 2027 elections.
Observers say the statement highlights growing political realignments as parties and influential figures begin positioning ahead of the next general election cycle.
