Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will secure about 95 percent of votes in the state during the 2027 general elections.

Sani made the declaration on Saturday at a mega rally held at Murtala Square, Kaduna, where four members of the State House of Assembly, five members of the House of Representatives, and thousands of their supporters defected to the APC.

With the latest defections, the APC now controls 13 out of 16 federal constituencies from Kaduna in the House of Representatives, and 26 out of 34 seats in the State Assembly.

The rally was attended by APC National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas; Minister of Environment, Balarabe Lawal; and Chairman of the North West Development Commission, Lawal Yakawada, among other top party figures.

Governor Sani welcomed the defectors, assuring them that the APC remains a united family where both new and old members enjoy equal opportunities.

“What matters most is your ability to connect with the grassroots and carry your people along,” he said.

He recalled that the party had only four members in the House of Representatives in 2023 but now boasts of 14.

“Today in Kaduna, we don’t have an opposition. I earlier told President Bola Ahmed Tinubu we were targeting 80 percent of the votes, but I can now assure him that 95 percent of Kaduna votes will go to APC in 2027,” the governor declared.

Sani attributed the increasing defections to his administration’s focus on justice, fairness, and inclusivity, which he said has helped maintain peace in the state.

“Kaduna is the most diverse state in Nigeria. We turned our diversity into strength. That’s why there has been no ethno-religious crisis since we came in — an unprecedented achievement,” he noted.

He added that poverty knows no religion or ethnicity, stressing that governance must remain people-centered.

“Our interest is our state. We must work together as one family,” he said.

APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, described the party as “the promised land” for Nigerian politicians and commended both President Tinubu and Governor Sani for their performance, saying they deserve a second term.

Speaker Tajudeen Abbas also hailed the APC’s dominance in Kaduna, noting that no political party had ever achieved such widespread acceptance across all three senatorial zones of the state.
