Abure Attacked at Abuja Airport, Labour Party Cries Foul

abour Party has raised alarm after its National Chairman, Julius Abure, was allegedly assaulted by a woman identified as Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama P, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday, prompting the party to accuse “anti-democratic elements” of orchestrating the attack.
In a statement on Saturday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, explained that Abure was standing in line to board a Max Air flight to Benin when the woman suddenly launched an attack on him.
According to Ifoh, the confrontation did not end at the airport. He said Mama P continued to harass the LP chairman onboard the aircraft, ignoring repeated pleas from flight attendants to calm down, and even carried on after the plane landed in Benin.
“The attacker, Madam P, who is also a known content creator, continued the attack all throughout the duration of the flight, defying all attempts by the Max Air flight attendants to calm her. The assault, which attracted a large number of onlookers, continued on disembarkation at the Benin Airport while she kept recording the scene,” Ifoh stated.
Security operatives were said to have intervened at the Benin Airport, whisking Abure to safety while the woman was handed over to the police.
The party expressed further concern after the assailant later released a video online. In the clip, she allegedly boasted about her political connections and threatened to continue targeting the Labour Party leadership.
> “In one of her videos, the lady claimed she has contacts with the highest police hierarchy, boasted that nothing will happen to her, and vowed to keep attacking Abure or any Labour Party executive member. She accused them of killing the party and being responsible for why Peter Obi is no longer in the Labour Party,” the statement added.
The Labour Party condemned the attack, describing it as part of a larger scheme to destabilize its leadership and intimidate its members.
