Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has reinstated Taiwo Olatunbosun as Commissioner for Information, barely one week after dissolving the State Executive Council.

The recall was contained in a letter dated August 18, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro. According to the directive, Olatunbosun, a former Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, is to immediately resume his role as Information Commissioner.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Olayinka Oyebode, confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, noting that the reinstatement took effect immediately.

“Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has recalled former Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, back to the State Executive Council. The recall is with immediate effect,” the statement read.

The development follows Oyebanji’s dissolution of the State Executive Council on August 11, which directed commissioners and special advisers to hand over to permanent secretaries or the most senior civil servants in their respective ministries, departments and agencies.

Olatunbosun’s reinstatement marks the first recall since the cabinet shake-up.
