Tinubu Approves ₦16.7bn for Urgent Reconstruction of Mokwa Bridge
President Bola Tinubu has approved the immediate release of ₦16.7 billion for the reconstruction of the Mokwa Bridge in Niger State, which was destroyed by flooding in May.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced the decision on Saturday in Abakaliki after meeting with the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi. Idris said the approval reflects the administration’s quick response to critical infrastructure needs, noting that the project will cover a 10-span bridge essential for regional connectivity.
He praised Umahi for dispatching experts to assess the damage shortly after the disaster, while Umahi described Tinubu as a compassionate leader committed to addressing Nigeria’s infrastructure challenges.
