Nasarawa Accountant General Denies 2027 Governorship Bid

The Accountant General of Nasarawa State, Musa Ahmed Mohammed, has dismissed allegations that he is campaigning to run for governor in 2027.
His response follows calls for his resignation by the Nasarawa State Transparency, Accountability and Good Governance Group, which accused him of harbouring political ambitions.
Speaking to journalists in Lafia on Tuesday, Mohammed said he has not told anyone he intends to contest and remains focused on serving under Governor Abdullahi Sule.
“I have never had a meeting to tell anyone I am contesting for governorship. At the moment, I am committed to the government of Engr. Abdullahi Sule,” he said.
While acknowledging his constitutional right to seek elective office, Mohammed stressed he has chosen to devote his efforts to stabilising the state’s financial sector. He urged supporters to allow him concentrate on his current duties.
