Tinubu Congratulates Nigerian Students for Winning Global English Championship

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated three Nigerian students for their outstanding performance at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the students for their excellence, describing them as symbols of Nigeria’s promising future.
The students — Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu (17), Rukayya Muhammad Fema (15), and Hadiza Kashim Kalli — represented Nigeria at the international competition, where they emerged victorious among thousands of participants from 69 countries.
Nafisa was awarded Overall Best in English Language Skills
Rukayya clinched Overall Best in Debate
Hadiza received the Outstanding Talent Award (Gold Medal)
The trio are students of Nigerian Tulip International College, Yobe State, and were previously celebrated by the Yobe State Government and other notable Nigerians for their remarkable achievements.
President Tinubu commended the girls for their dedication and excellence, while also acknowledging the role of their school and teachers in nurturing their talents. He emphasized that the success of these students reflects the potential of Nigeria’s education system and the impact of ongoing reforms and investments.
He further encouraged the students to remain focused in their academic pursuits and wished them continued success.
The President highlighted the Federal Government’s commitment to removing financial barriers to education through initiatives like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, aimed at supporting indigent students across the country.
Meanwhile, former Minister of Communications and President of the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, has called on the Federal Government to recognize the students nationally. He urged that the girls, along with their teacher, be officially invited to the Presidency, saying their achievements deserve as much celebration as Nigeria’s top sports teams.
