Okpebholo Launches Door-to-Door Campaign Team Ahead of Edo Central By-election

Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has officially inaugurated a door-to-door campaign team to rally support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Joe Ikpea, ahead of the August 16 senatorial by-election in Edo Central Senatorial District.

Speaking during the event on Friday in Uromi, Okpebholo urged young people to throw their full support behind Ikpea and cautioned against trusting candidates from rival political parties. He described the upcoming election as a crucial test for the youth, presenting them with a chance to demonstrate their political strength and influence.

Highlighting the progress made under his administration, the governor said Edo State is currently experiencing tangible development. “As the people embrace light, darkness disappears,” he declared, calling for intensified grassroots mobilization.

“This is the time to carry out aggressive door-to-door campaigns for APC candidates,” Okpebholo said. “We are committed to delivering 2.5 million votes to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential elections.”

He expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the senatorial election, predicting a clean sweep: “APC will win all five local government areas in Edo Central. We are not taking anything for granted.”
