Tinubu Arrives in Ogun for Late Awujale’s Eighth-Day Prayer

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Ogun State on Sunday to attend the eighth-day prayer in honour of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
He was received at the Gateway International Airport in Iperu by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, along with other South-West governors.
According to a post by the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, the President was accompanied by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The prayer ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode.
Oba Adetona, a respected Yoruba monarch who reigned for 65 years, passed away on July 13 at the age of 91 and was buried on July 14 in accordance with Islamic rites.
Security has been reinforced in key areas of Ijebu-Ode, including the stadium, the Awujale’s palace, and his private residence in Igbeba.
