David Mark Urges Caution as FG Accuses Opposition of Plotting Against Tinubu

The Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has dismissed reports suggesting that the newly formed opposition coalition has endorsed a preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement released on Tuesday by his media team in Abuja, Mark clarified that all members of the ADC are equal stakeholders and that the party has not anointed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, or former Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi—who were widely speculated to be frontrunners for the party’s ticket.
Mark emphasized that the ADC’s priority is to build a credible and inclusive platform that resonates with the majority of Nigerians.
> “We are doing this because we do not want this great ship called Nigeria to sink. If we don’t rise up now, they will sink all of us,” Mark warned.
