Enugu State’s newly established commercial airline, Enugu Air, will officially begin operations on Monday, July 7, 2025.
According to a statement from the airline, the inaugural ceremony will be held at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, and will be attended by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, along with other distinguished guests.
The Enugu State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Obi Ozor, described Enugu Air as a central part of Governor Peter Mbah’s vision to build a modern, integrated transportation system that will transform Enugu into a major aviation hub within Nigeria.
The airline’s initial fleet will include three Embraer jets from the E170 and E190 series, selected for their reliable performance, passenger comfort, and suitability for regional routes.
