Residents laud Soludo’s fare reduction efforts

Residents of Nkpor, Umuoji, Uke, and Nnobi in Idemili North and South LGAs of Anambra State have praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for approving Uzoegwu United Brothers to manage Nkpor parks and transportation activities.
They described the move as a long-awaited solution to daily transport struggles and a step that will open up underdeveloped parts of the area. In separate interviews, residents including John Okoye, Uzochukwu Obi, Onyebuchi Igwuilo, and Anthony Okeke hailed Soludo—popularly called the “Solution Governor”—for listening to their concerns.
According to them, this initiative is bold and people-centered, expected to boost infrastructure growth, improve revenue generation, and bring lasting relief to commuters, especially those using the Nkpor–Onitsha route daily.
Many residents also endorsed Soludo for a second term, highlighting his leadership, compassion, and commitment to grassroots development. They said the reforms have already stimulated commercial activity in previously underdeveloped areas.
Commuters traveling to major Onitsha markets—like Main Market, Ochanja, and Bridgehead—echoed the same praise, expressing hope for the governor’s broader transformational agenda.
Meanwhile, commercial motorists thanked Chief Greg Ezeilo, Chairman of the State Internally Generated Revenue Service, for playing a key role in restructuring transport management in Nkpor. They described his involvement as timely and critical to the success of the reforms.
Overall, the transport overhaul is widely seen as a model of grassroots-focused governance aligned with Soludo’s vision for a modern, functional Anambra State.
