My kids are the only ones I owe an explanation” – 2Face
Legendary Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face, has said he doesn’t owe the public an explanation over his separation from his wife, actress Annie Macaulay.
2Face made this known during an interview on the 234 Mzansi Podcast, addressing the controversies that erupted after he publicly announced the separation in an Instagram post on January 26, 2025.
The situation drew even more attention when the singer began openly sharing photos and moments with his new partner, Natasha Osawuru, who is also a member of the Edo State House of Assembly.
Speaking candidly, 2Face explained that his children are the only people entitled to know the full story behind the decision.
> “My kids are the only people I owe an explanation,” he stated.
The singer clarified that the marriage ended because it “wasn’t working anymore,” though he emphasized that Annie is an “amazing person” and that they “had a good run.” He added that despite their best efforts to save the marriage, it ultimately wasn’t enough.
2Face and Annie Macaulay got married in May 2012 and share two daughters, Isabella and Olivia.
