Tinubu arrives in Saint Lucia for state visit

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia, on Saturday at around 5:30 p.m. local time, marking the start of his two-nation tour of the Caribbean and South America.
On arrival at Hewanorra International Airport, Tinubu was welcomed with full military honours. He was received by Governor-General Cyril Errol Melchiades Charles and Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre.
According to a statement issued by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President will begin his state visit on Sunday with courtesy calls on both the Governor-General and the Prime Minister.
As part of his itinerary, Tinubu is scheduled to address a special joint session of Saint Lucia’s Senate and House of Assembly on Monday. The event will be held at the William Jefferson Clinton Ballroom, Sandals Grande, Gros Islet.
The audience will include:
Heads of Government from the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS)
Senior officials of the Saint Lucian government
Members of the diplomatic community
Representatives of the Nigerian community in Saint Lucia
The Director-General of the OECS, Dr Didacus Jules
