Peter Obi Condemns Imo Attack, Urges FG to Prosecute Perpetrators

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has called on the Federal Government to ensure the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the recent violent attack in Imo State.
On Thursday, gunmen launched a brutal assault along the Okwelle axis of Okigwe Road, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 individuals. The attackers set multiple vehicles on fire, barricaded roads, and targeted both motorists and commuters.
The Imo State Police Command has pointed to suspected members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), a proscribed group, as the likely perpetrators of the deadly assault.
Peter Obi has condemned the attack as an act of “embarrassing barbarism” and stressed the need for swift action by the federal authorities to bring those behind the violence to justice.
