Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, made his first public appearance on Sunday following a two-week vacation in the United Kingdom. He attended a special 2025 Thanksgiving Service organized by the Boys Brigade Metropolitan Battalion Council Nigeria at St. Cyprian’s Church, Anglican Communion, Port Harcourt.

The event, presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja, celebrated the success of recent religious camp activities by the Boys Brigade. According to Fubara’s media aide, Nelson Chukwudi, the service also included a special prayer for the governor, his family, and the peace of Rivers State.

Fubara was accompanied by Amaopusenibo Fubara Hart and Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja.

His return coincides with renewed political tension, as FCT Minister Nyesom Wike—his former political ally—accused him of allegedly sponsoring the disruption of a women’s empowerment programme organized by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in Port Harcourt.
