Vice President Shettima loses mother-in-law

Vice President Kashim Shettima is grieving the loss of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar Albishir, who passed away in Kano on Sunday evening after a prolonged illness. She was 69 years old.

 

Hajiya Maryam, the mother of the Vice President’s wife, Hajiya Nana Shettima, will be laid to rest on Monday afternoon in Kano, following Islamic traditions.

 

Hajiya Maryam was celebrated as an exemplary and kind-hearted figure in her community and a devoted Muslim. She was widely respected for her wisdom, compassion, and commitment to charitable causes. Many remember her as a source of guidance and support within her family and the broader Kano community.

In a statement, Ameen Amishi, an aide to the Vice President, expressed the nation’s condolences to Vice President Shettima, Hajiya Nana Shettima, and their family. He also highlighted the significant impact of Hajiya Maryam’s life and legacy.
