“Baba Ibeji” D’banj Hails Davido As They Reunite At Trace Awards Show
The Trace music Awards held in Rwanda witnessed a heartwarming reunion between prominent Nigerian music icons, Davido and D’Banj. A video from the event has gone viral, showing D’Banj enthusiastically greeting Davido and affectionately referring to him as “Baba Ibeji,” a term that translates to “father of twins.”
This nickname holds a special significance because Davido and his wife, Chioma, recently celebrated the arrival of twins, which has been a cause for widespread congratulations and excitement.
While the celebrations were in full swing, there were certain controversies surrounding Davido’s expanding family. Kemi Olunloyo, a known voice in the media, shared her belief that the twins born to Davido and Chioma did not arrive naturally but rather through in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

She also alleged that Chioma underwent a caesarean section during childbirth. Additionally, Kemi Olunloyo claimed that as a gesture of affection, Davido gifted Chioma a house in Atlanta, although these assertions have not been independently verified.
Both Davido and D’Banj have faced the painful loss of a child in the past, echoing the grief that Davido experienced before the joy of welcoming his twins. D’Banj, who went through a similar heartbreaking experience, reached out to Davido during his difficult period. Their reunion at the Trace music Awards Rwanda was a sweet moment for viewers who watched it.
The awards ceremony itself was a showcase of remarkable musical talents. Davido secured the “Best Collaboration” award for his collaboration with Musa Keys. Burna Boy, known for his unique musical style, also clinched the “Album of the Year” award. Calm down crooner Rema also received the “Best Global Artist” award at the Trace music award show.
