Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State on Wednesday presented a โ‚ฆ914 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly, outlining key priorities in infrastructure, education, health, and security.

The budget, christened โ€œBudget of Restoration and Consolidation II,โ€ represents a 22% increase from the previous yearโ€™s appropriation, reflecting the governmentโ€™s ambition to accelerate post-crisis recovery and inclusive growth.

Mutfwang explained that โ‚ฆ532 billion was earmarked for capital expenditure while โ‚ฆ382 billion was set aside for recurrent expenses, adding that the budget seeks to strengthen Plateauโ€™s economic resilience and attract private investment.

He emphasized his administrationโ€™s commitment to transparency and accountability in the implementation process, assuring citizens
