The Oyo State Executive Council has approved the reconstruction of the 30-kilometre Igbohoโ€“Kishi Road in Oorelope Local Government Area, valued at โ‚ฆ38.7 billion.

Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Professor Daud Sangodoyin, disclosed this after the councilโ€™s meeting at the Governorโ€™s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan, on Thursday.

He explained that the project, which will be executed through the Alternative Project Funding Approach (APFA), is aimed at boosting economic activities and easing transportation in the Oke-Ogun region.

Sangodoyin added that the contractor has been mobilised to commence work immediately, with completion expected within 18 months.

The commissioner also reaffirmed the governmentโ€™s commitment to ensuring infrastructural development reaches every zone of the state, in line with Governor Seyi Makindeโ€™s roadmap for sustainable development.
