A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged President Bola Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu to identify and prosecute saboteurs allegedly undermining Nigeriaโ€™s security efforts.

Oyintiloye, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, made the call in a statement issued in Osogbo on Sunday, expressing concern over escalating killings and abductions in Kwara, Kebbi, Niger and other parts of the country. He warned that the insecurity was making Nigeria increasingly unsafe.

He appealed to the Service Chiefs to intensify efforts to rescue abducted schoolchildren and halt the rising wave of terrorist attacks, saying communities had been devastated by mass displacement, abductionsโ€”especially of schoolgirlsโ€”and violent killings.

According to him, if changing operational tactics is required to restore security, the military should do so urgently, as โ€œNigeria is bleeding and time is running out.โ€

Oyintiloye urged the Federal Government to discreetly investigate internal sabotage and external collaborations sabotaging military operations, insisting that those responsible must be exposed, flushed out, and prosecuted before further damage occurs.

He commended President Tinubuโ€™s ongoing efforts in the fight against terrorism, stressing that Nigeria has the capacity to win the war with collective support and cooperation from all stakeholders.

The APC chieftain also encouraged citizens not to lose hope, assuring that the country would overcome its current security challenges.

His call follows remarks by Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, who recently demanded a probe into who ordered soldiers to vacate Government Girlsโ€™ Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, shortly before bandits abducted students. The governor disclosed that authorities had earlier received intelligence about a possible attack on the school.
