The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has vowed to resist any attempt by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to intimidate voters and opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Ogun PDP chairman, while addressing party members and supporters at a stakeholdersโ meeting, said the party would no longer tolerate what he described as systematic harassment and suppression of opposition voices in the state. He stressed that democracy can only thrive where elections are free, fair and conducted without fear.
According to him, the PDP is already strengthening its grassroots structures and mobilising supporters across the state to ensure voters are adequately protected and encouraged to freely exercise their civic rights during the polls. He warned that any form of intimidation would be firmly resisted through lawful and democratic means.
The party chairman also called on security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remain neutral and professional, urging them to uphold the rule of law and ensure a level playing field for all political parties.
He expressed confidence that the PDP would emerge stronger ahead of 2027, adding that the party remains committed to offering Ogun residents an alternative leadership focused on good governance, accountability and inclusive development.
