Kabiru Turaki, newly elected National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, says the era of impunity, internal suppression and disregard for membersโ€™ choices has come to an end under his leadership.

Turaki gave the assurance in his acceptance speech shortly after he was declared winner at the PDPโ€™s 2025 elective national convention held on Saturday in Ibadan. He said the party must recommit itself to transparency, collective decision-making and genuine reconciliation to regain public trust.

The former minister noted that the convention marked a turning point for the PDP, emphasising that members would now experience a more inclusive culture where every voice counts. He added that unity and discipline would drive the partyโ€™s strategy ahead of future electoral contests.

Turaki also urged members to set aside differences and work towards strengthening the PDP, assuring that the new leadership would prioritise fairness, accountability and internal democracy.
