A United States lawmaker, Riley Moore, who is leading investigations into the alleged genocide of Christians in Nigeria, has cautioned the Nigerian government against testing the resolve of President Donald Trump on the issue.
Moore, speaking during an interview on Fox News on Saturday, urged the Nigerian authorities to collaborate with the U.S. to end what he described as the โongoing slaughter of Christiansโ in the country.
โDo not test President Trumpโs resolve, he is serious about ending the ongoing slaughter of Christians in Nigeria,โ Moore said.
He appealed to the Nigerian government to โdo the right thingโ by working with the U.S. to protect Christians and stop the killings of โour brothers and sisters in Christ.โ
DAILY POST recalls that President Trump had earlier designated Nigeria as a country of particular concern, with Republican lawmakers threatening possible military action over alleged government inaction.
The Nigerian government, however, has consistently denied claims of persecuting any religious group in the country.
