Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Wednesday presented a โฆ1.67 trillion Appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly, describing it as a budget designed to fast-track infrastructure, economic growth, and social welfare in 2026.
The governor, while laying the proposal before lawmakers at the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said the budget reflects his administrationโs commitment to inclusive development and prudent financial management.
Abiodun explained that the 2026 proposal prioritises road construction, healthcare expansion, education, housing projects, digital economy initiatives, and agricultural development aimed at boosting food security and creating jobs for youths across the state.
He noted that capital projects account for a significant portion of the budget, adding that his administration will continue to pursue partnerships with private investors to accelerate infrastructural delivery without overburdening the stateโs finances.
The governor urged the assembly to give the bill accelerated consideration to ensure early implementation of key projects in the next fiscal year.
Speaker of the House, Oludaisi Elemide, commended the governor for the detailed presentation and assured that the assembly would thoroughly review the proposal in line with its legislative duties.
