The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday confirmed the resolution of the long-standing political crisis between him and the incumbent Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

This follows a closed-door peace meeting convened by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Wike announced that all parties involved had reached a conclusive agreement to end hostilities and work together harmoniously.

“We have all agreed to work together with the governor, and the governor has also agreed to work with all of us. We are members of the same political family,” Wike stated.

He acknowledged that the conflict had persisted for several months but emphasized that the latest agreement marked a final resolution.

“Just like humans, you have disagreements, and then you have a time to settle them. That has been finally concluded today,” he said. “We have come to report to Mr. President that peace has returned. For me, everything is over.”

Wike also called for calm among their supporters, urging unity and cooperation going forward.

Governor Fubara also confirmed the truce, describing it as a divine breakthrough and a vital step for the future of Rivers State.
