Uzodimma: Tinubu’s leadership attracting opposition governors to APC

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has attributed the recent wave of defections by opposition governors and lawmakers to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the performance and leadership style of President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking at the APC stakeholders’ meeting in Kebbi State on Friday, Uzodimma — who also chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum — said the influx of politicians into the party reflected growing confidence in the Tinubu administration.
“There is only one political party in Nigeria, and that party is the APC,” he declared in a viral video from the event. “Across the states, governors are defecting to the APC. This is not by accident but conviction that President Tinubu has performed.”
He described the development as a “national history in the making,” commending Tinubu for what he called the “recovery, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of Nigeria.”
Uzodimma also assured APC members in Kebbi of nationwide solidarity, praising their contributions to the party’s progress.
The remarks come amid recent high-profile defections, including Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, both of whom joined the APC, citing alignment with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
